Understanding Bitterness
08.12.12 – Hosea 4:6 says, “My people, are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. When it comes to understanding bitterness we need to begin first with some other questions. What do we believe about life with God? What is the product of ‘truly’ believing? If we are double minded, considering what the spirit of God desires and also choosing what the flesh desires we will be unstable in all our ways. A little knowledge and the help of the Holy Spirit can go a long way when it comes to dealing with bitterness. -
Freedom or Free Dumb
08.05.12 – Did you know that there are many things that rob Christians from the fullness there is, in living for Christ? It’s true. Many of us react to things as though Christ was not a part of our life. We don’t understand the Biblical foundations for freedom that is ours to enjoy. Life with Christ is meant to be different. We are free! -
The Heart of Forgiveness
07.15.12 – Forgiveness forms the foundation of our relationship with God and sustains our relationships with each other. Here’s a thought: When Jesus said, Father forgive them from the cross, who was the beneficiary of this prayer? Listen to today’s sermon and be challenged. -
Value of Godly Repentance
07.08.12 – Will Power is no Power. Sin Management is an oxymoron. Let’s continue to look at real inhibitors to Godly repentance. Question: What is stoping you to lining up you life with the one God wants you to lead? Listen along as we dig into God’s Word. -
Trusting God & Others With Who You Truly Are! Pt#5
07.01.12 – Happy Canada Day! If you are listening today you will see how true Patriot love connects with the theme of sermons I have been preaching. With the help of a number of scriptures we will look at how ‘Harmony with God’ can lead to harmony in the home, bringing order to a nation and maybe even peace to the world. Curious yet? I hope you enjoy today’s message. -
Trusting God & Others With Who You Truly Are! Pt#4
06.24.12 – The springboard for this message comes from a story found in the book ‘True Faced‘. The question is posed: ‘There are two roads to choose from, the first is ‘To Please God’ and the second is ‘To Trust God’. Which one would you choose? You will be interested to discover in this sermon that pleasing God is not the best road to travel. Curious? You will enjoy this sermon as it unfolds and truly be challenged if you are living with the frustration of trying to please God. Warm & sincere, that’s the view of God from here! -
Trusting God & Others With Who You Truly Are! Pt#3
06.17.12 – In this message to Fathers (on this Father’s Day) I want us to focus on verse 10 of Ephesians 2:1-10. ‘We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in.‘ A strong man is not a self-made man. A strong man is one who acknowledges he is God’s workmanship. Men I hope you will take time to listen to this message designed to encourage and strengthen your position in God, in the home and in relationship with others. -
Trusting God & Others With Who You Truly Are! Pt#2
06.10.12 – The apostle Paul of the Bible a wonderful example, despite challenges to his credibility as an apostle, of a man who was comfortable with who he was before God and man. One of the keys we will look at is the fact he wasn’t comfortable with himself. What? That doesn’t make sense! His comfort comes from the mercy of God extended to him. Join us in listening to this heartfelt message that declares we are all broken and it is only the mercy of God that will allow us to feel Good before God and Man! -
Trusting God & Others With Who You Truly Are! Pt#1
06.03.12 – I have struggled with Vision Statements, and as a result our church lacks a specific identity. My strengths as a leader involves modelling encouragement, and caring for those who may be hurting. I am a shepherd, I am a nurturer. During my most recent ponderings regarding identity I came to the conclusion that our church isn’t identified by anything in particular that we do, but who we are. Over and over people say your church is so warm. It feels like family, and I get a growing sense of community. Then I sensed the Lord place a thought in my mind, ‘Warm & Sincere, That’s the View of God from Here!’ As we look at Hebrews 10: 19-25 to launch this series of messages may you also capture some practical steps God is leading us in to enrich who we already are. -
The Shed Blood of Jesus & Pentecost
05.27.12 – Pentecost: It’s purpose and relationship to the cross is vital. On Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the birth of the church through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Today’s message considers the historical implications of the feast celebrated fifty days after Passover and its New Testament record of the Holy Spirit coming to the followers in Jerusalem after Jesus ascends. -
Relationship Between Prayer & The Blood of Jesus
05.20.12 – Would you be free from the burden of sin? Would you o’er evil a victory win? Would you be free from your passion and pride? Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow? These questions penned by the hymn writer Lewis E. Jones will serve as the platform for my message this morning. Some think if only I would pray more … maybe I could answer these questions with an emphatic yes. Today’s message acknowledges the beautiful relationship between prayer and the shed blood of Jesus. -
Happy Mother’s Way!
05.13.12 – ‘Happy Mother’s Way’ isn’t about the popular phrase “happy wife, happy life”. Nor is it based on the intimidation that comes from the statement by moms, “I brought you into this world I’ll take you out”. ‘Happy Mother’s Way’ is based on the wisdom of Proverbs 31 that states, “an excellent wife/mother who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.” Proverbs 31 presents the reader with ‘a way’, for wives/mothers to live that will bring blessing to the home so that her children will rise and call her blessed. I hope you enjoy this look into a ‘Happy Mother’s Way.’ -
Jesus' Blood: I Am Establishing A New Covenant
05.06.12 – Has anybody reading this ever forgotten something? Maybe something really important? Guess what? God understands. He knows his creation’s challenge to keep Him front and center in their lives. God is practical. Regarding the Lord’s supper he says, “Do this in remembrance of me.” In the words of Mufasa from Lion King, “Remember … Remember … Remember!” The sermon today focuses on the importance of remembering the offering of Jesus body and the shedding of His blood. -
Jesus Blood: A Covering That We May Draw Near
04.29.12 – In relationship with God in the Garden of Eden, man was covered and naked. In rebellion against God man is naked (embarrassed to draw near) and covered (sown fig leaves). Sound confusing? You will want to listen to the role the shedding of blood plays in bringing the covering we need to draw near to God. -
Let’s Talk About The Blood of Jesus Christ
04.22.12 – I want to take some time leading up to Pentecost Sunday by answering some questions about the blood of Jesus. It is so important to our standing with God to understand the power there is in the shed blood of the Lamb. Martin Luther had a dream he was standing before God on judgment day and Satan was referencing a book of all of Luther’s transgressions. His heart sunk in despair until something lept in his heart. ‘There is one entry which you have not made, Satan’. The devil retorted, ‘What is that?’ Luther answered, ‘It is the blood of Jesus Christ, his son cleanseth us from all sin.’ Let’s get ready to understand this blessing by considering some historical issues first. -
Special Guest Clyde Williamson
04.15.12 – A message by Clyde Williamson during RidgeView’s AM Service. He shares with people the state of Israel and the importance of Christians and Canada’s choice to stand in support of Israel when the rest of the world has turned its back. He calls us to prayer and fasting for Israel that we may see God bless this Holy Land. -
He Is Risen! Up, Up And Away
04.08.12 – A three year old was asked, ‘Do you know what Easter means?’ Confidently she responded ‘Yes’. Well what does it mean? With arms raised high and at the top of her voice she said, ‘SURPRISE!’ I love it! Think about it. Surprise death, surprise sin, surprise mourning disciples, surprise modern man. “HE’S ALIVE!” -
Children’s Presentation
04.01.12 – The Easter Story isn’t about death, it is about peace. From a triumphal entry to, weeping as he approaches Jerusalem. Luke 19:42 says, “… if you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace.” Today’s message focuses on the peace that has come through children in the Bible and the peace that is ultimately revealed in the midst of one of the darkest hours of the early church. -
We Are Healed
03.25.12 – The prophet Isaiah spoke a wonderful word of encouragement of one who was to come. Today’s message rejoices in the fulfillment of scripture as ‘One’ does come and take up our infirmities, carries our sorrows, was pierced for ‘Our’ transgressions, crushed for ‘Our’ iniquities. I hope you are strengthened and equipped to stand in a wonderful truth fulfilled in Jesus. -
Here Comes Champ!
03.18.12 – Champions have parades, get to meet the President of the United States, live the Canadian dream of hoisting the Stanley Cup. Today, I want us to consider the characteristics of champions in the eyes of God. Someone wrote: “But risk we must, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The man, the woman who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.” Sounds harsh! Want to be a champion? -
What Is A Champion?
03.11.12 – If you stood in front of him/her would you recognize a champion? Even though Samuel was a godly man he was affected by his culture when it came to recognizing a champion. David didn’t even make the starting line up when it came to choosing the next King. This message is going to look at the power of a pardon to set the stage for emerging champions. -
Going Deep
02.26.12 – If we go back to Genesis 1:2 the ‘deep’ initially is without form, lacking order and content. If you are ‘in deep’, it usually means something has gone wrong and it is going to be hard to get out of it. In Mesopotamian mythology the deep in Genesis 2 is referred to as chaos. The god of chaos has to be defeated before order, form and content can come. The sermon today takes the beautiful picture of God hovering over the deep ready to bring forth creation and the parallel of prayer often moving us from a world of chaos to a place of God’s order, purpose, us understanding our place in this world with God. Be strengthened by ‘Going Deep with God‘. -
Standing In The Gap
02.12.12 – “I sought for a man (woman, youth or child) among them who would build up a wall and stand in the gap (or breach) before me for the land.” Guess what? He couldn’t find one. You can probably see where this sermon is going. Many will probably skip this podcast because you just know it is going to end with a question. One that might just bring some conviction to step up! -
Wait or Weight?
02.05.12 – The greatest joy conceived, union with God, comes out of great sacrifice. We love to enjoy life and revel in the blessings of following Christ. Today we look at the implications of taking up our cross and following Jesus and its connection with inexplicable joy. -
Intercession: A Passion
01.29.12 – I want us to begin by considering how your beliefs affect the way you live? Do you have a closed set of beliefs once and for all, or an open set of beliefs with which one dialogically deals with the issues of his world with God? Here’s a thought. Did you know that our prayer is often influenced by our gifts? Listen to today’s sermon and watch this connection unfold. -
Interception …
01.15.12 – To intercede is to ‘go between‘. Scripture tells us He wants to fill us with the knowledge of His will, giving us (spiritual) wisdom and understanding. Today’s sermon will look at some of the practical applications of what to do with information God gives us in prayer. -
What’s New?
01.01.12 – Not asking about any Christmas gifts you have received from family and/or friends. The question calls us to consider what God would like to initiate in us and perhaps through us in the coming year of 2012. Today begins a series of messages helping us to get beyond the ‘Veil’ when it comes to prayer.
